    OBJECTIVES
    ABOUT US

Doncaster and District Family History Society was founded in 1980 and covers the area as shown in the Archdeaconry Map of 1914, below.

The Society is a registered charity, and is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers at the Executive Committee level.

We have an enthusiastic group of volunteer supporters, who assist with the wide variety of projects we are involved in, and who without we would not be able to offer our Members the support they receive.

These projects and services include transcribing historical records (1.6 million names to date), organising meetings and fairs, assisting with research enquiries to name but a few.

We are guided by a constitution, which outlines our objectives, but our mission is a simple one and that is to help people discover their ancestors who are from the Doncaster area.
