The AGM was, in the end, a success, but we do wish to apologise to all the members who attended the Rugby Club, to find the car park in complete chaos, with minimal or no stewarding, cars abandoned everywhere, and not much space left available for our own guests.
It was beyond our control, and we hadn’t been forewarned, but nonetheless, we do apologise.
As a result June has made a complaint to the event management team at the club.
The AGM was as usual brief, and Eric Jackson’s talk, ‘After You Are Dead’, was gripping and presented with knowledge and humour. Did you know Charlie Chaplin’s body was taken unlawfully from his grave in Switzerland and held for ransom!
